UK Fusion Energy is inviting businesses from across the UK to take part in a two-day supplier engagement event this July, designed to connect industry with opportunities to support delivery of the STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) programme.
Taking place on 15–16 July at the Bridge Skills Hub, Worksop, the event will bring together engineering, construction and supply chain partners to explore how organisations can contribute to one of the UK’s most ambitious energy programmes.
Connecting Industry to Opportunity
The two-day event will provide a platform for businesses to better understand the scope, challenges and upcoming opportunities within STEP Fusion, while engaging directly with the teams leading its delivery.
From specialist engineering capabilities to regional supply chain expertise, the sessions are designed to showcase where industry can play a critical role.
Day One: System Partner Market Engagement – 15 jULY 2026
The first day will focus on organisations interested in responding to current market engagement notices being progressed by UK Fusion Energy.
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Meet engineering and commercial teams
- Gain insight into the STEP programme, its systems and delivery challenges
- Understand key processes, including intellectual property considerations
- Explore how their capabilities align with programme needs
The session will bring together potential partners to share STEP-specific challenges and identify where collaboration can help accelerate progress.
Day Two: Meet the Buyer – Regional Supply Chain – 16 jULY 2026
The second day will focus on regional businesses and the role they can play in supporting STEP delivery.
This “Meet the Buyer” session will highlight the wider pipeline of opportunities, offering practical insight into how local organisations can get involved.
Attendees will be able to:
- Engage directly with commercial, engineering and construction teams
- Learn about upcoming procurement opportunities
- Explore how their services and capabilities can support delivery
The day will also bring together key delivery partners, offering a unique opportunity to connect with:
- UK Fusion Energy
- ILIOS, whole plant construction partner
- Tokamak Energy
- UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), fusion partner
Building the STEP fUSION Supply Chain
The event forms part of ongoing efforts to build a strong, capable and diverse supply chain to support the delivery of STEP, creating opportunities for businesses at both national and regional levels.
It also supports wider ambitions to drive economic growth, innovation and skills development linked to fusion energy.
