UK Fusion Energy Ltd (UKFE) has signed the Armed Forces Covenant alongside colleagues from UKAEA, reaffirming its commitment to supporting serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families.
The Covenant is a voluntary pledge that recognises the valuable contribution made by the Armed Forces community and seeks to ensure that those who serve, or have served, are treated fairly and with respect.
By signing, UKFE has committed to upholding the principles of the Covenant and supporting members of the Armed Forces community across its organisation.
The signing ceremony brought together representatives from UKFE, UKAEA, the Ministry of Defence, RAF Benson and the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA), as well as members of the UKAEA Armed Forces Network.
The Armed Forces community brings a wealth of skills, experience and leadership, making an important contribution to organisations and communities across the UK. UKFE is already seeing that impact within its own workforce, including through colleagues who first connected with the organisation via Armed Forces-focused careers initiatives.
As part of its commitment, UKFE will continue to support reservists, strengthen engagement with the Armed Forces community and promote opportunities for service personnel, veterans and military families to contribute to the organisation’s mission.
UKFE would also like to thank the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA) for its support in coordinating the signing and helping organisations create opportunities for veterans, reservists and military families in the workplace.
Ryan Ramsey, Director of Organisational Performance at UK Fusion Energy Ltd, said:
“We are proud to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and to strengthen our support for the Armed Forces community.
“The challenge of delivering fusion energy depends on attracting exceptional people with diverse skills and experiences. We know that serving personnel, veterans and military families bring valuable skills, experience and perspectives to our organisation.
“We look forward to building on this commitment in the years ahead.”
